Mike Fogliani▸ Task 6 – Implementing Your Game


My students last year had to design a game that had to include multiple variables, loops, broadcast/receives, and if/else statements. This was to avoid them creating simple games and to push their limits further.

The project started off with a planning document where they listed their ideas for the game. This then went on to a storyboard development of some key aspects of the game along with general pseudocode for the characters and environment.

The hardest part was thinking of an initial idea that could include the items listed in the first paragraph. Also, the trial-and-error approach is sometimes the best one, especially with programming, so the storyboarding and pseudocode was seen by most as a waste of time. So these were the main challenges faced in the implementation process.
