"Calling for Expressions of Interest for the DigiTech Start-Ups Initiative by Friday 29th September. (Please note extended date)

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education is one of the Government’s priorities in its vision for Victoria as the Education State. It recognises that our future prosperity is greatly reliant on a workforce that is increasingly STEM literate.
The DigiTech Start-Ups Initiative will provide 150 Victorian government secondary, P-9 and P-12 schools and special school settings with a secondary school cohort, professional learning and funding of up to $10,000 to purchase resources that will support the implementation of the Digital Technologies Curriculum in their school, through:
stimulating best practice models of implementation which engage teachers and students with the Digital Technologies curriculum;
sharing ideas and strategies to implement the Digital Technologies curriculum, within and among schools; and
providing practice exemplars e.g. sample projects, case studies and lesson plans that can be used by other schools to support implementation of the Digital Technologies curriculum.
This initiative encourages schools to foster entrepreneurial and emerging ideas, which evolve into innovative products, processes or services, supported by design and computational thinking – a core component of the Digital Technologies Curriculum.
Professional learning sessions will be delivered across all regions in Term 4, 2017 and Term 1, 2018.
