Hi. I am fairly new to this and I am sure it will be interesting and at times challenging.

I am thinking of a 3D printer. You have your computer with a specific program such as Coral Draw graphic suite. The design is created with this program. The image will then be printed on a surface using another specific program such as Rayjet to create a 3D copy of the designed image
