A more complex problem I would like to solve with interactive software is the assessment of a student’s proficiency in programming knowledge and skills. This would be especially helpful when a new student has been onboarded into a programming class.
I envision this as a multi-level game that progresses in difficulty and relies on students modifying the code of a level in order to reach the next stage. The student will only know the aim (the result of the code) however the method they use will be dependant on the already existing code and graphics, therefore possessing the skills to read and understand the code is essential, and will need to resort to the existing programming knowledge they possess.
