Cyber awareness, involves being conscious of the information that we put online and how we protect that information with measures like strong passwords. It also refers to policies and procedures put in place to enhance our safety online.

While cyber safety includes all of the things that we can do individually to protect ourselves as much as possible online when sharing and collaborating.

Elements of cyber safety and cyber awareness should definitely be taught in schools. Many elements of cyber safety refer to issues that would be relevant in schools such as proper referencing and the blocking of certain websites.

Cyber awareness should be taught to students so that they are aware of how to protect their information and data from getting into unwanted hands. Additionally, they should also be taught that what they put online can affect them into the future due to its permanency.
